Toy Doors
The toy I made is a simple game where, if you see a shaking door, you go and close it. If you don't close it, you lose and it restarts. This is fun because it appeals to the part of the human instinct to deal with a problem as fast as possible. In terms of novelty, it is incredibly simple, with the "goal" being to see how far you can get using the timer on the corner of the screen. The things that surprised a lot of people were the fact that the doors shook randomly, resulting in a surprise when you go to one side of the room to get a door and you miss the one exactly behind you, and the sound the door made when you closed it. Players really seemed to enjoy triggering that sound. There were still some issues, such as the one showcased in the video linked. This player, on their first time playing, had figured out how to not lose by closing every door one by one over and over, not giving them time to start shaking again. Another issue is that the doors don't make any sound when they're shaking. It would create a much more immersive experience if the player could hear the doors shaking all around them and not have to rely solely on their eyes.
